Garage Door Repairs & Installation in Wynnum
Wynnum is a bayside suburb on Moreton Bay, and salt air changes what fails on a garage door. Springs, cables, fixings, hinges and the underside of unpainted steel corrode faster near the water than they do inland, and a door that would last untouched in an inland suburb often needs its hardware looked at sooner in Wynnum.
Coastal corrosion and what it does to a door
Salt-laden air attacks the small steel parts first. Cables fray from the inside, spring coils pit and then snap without much warning, roller stems seize in their bearings, and track fixings rust where they meet the frame. The door panel itself can still look presentable while the hardware behind it is well past its life.
If your Wynnum door has become noisy, jerky or heavy, the hardware is usually the place to start. We inspect the full mechanism rather than just replacing the one part that failed, because in coastal suburbs the other parts are the same age and the same exposure.
Choosing a replacement door near the bay
When a bayside door is past repair, the specification matters more than it does inland, because the finish, fixings and hardware all have to cope with the exposure. We measure the opening on site at Wynnum and talk through the options in person rather than quoting blind.
